Born on New Year’s Eve, it is no surprise that Leon is an extremely special Southern California native. At age five, he got his first guitar and at age nine, he began taking piano lessons. Age thirteen was a tough age for Leon. After being expelled from three different schools, he found relief with his electric guitar. From that point forward, Leon knew his passion was music. In those early years,Guitar virtuoso and Assasin founder Thom Bebe mentored Leon in music and music theory landing him a spot at the Musicians Institute (GIT) in Hollywood both Thom Bebe and Arthur "Killer" Kane, a founding member of The New York Dolls, both mentored him musically and in the "school" of life.
As Leon matured and settled down a bit, he attended UCLA where he learned the ins and outs of the legal and practical aspects of the music and publishing industries as well as cultivated and developed a deep understanding of international copyright law and practice.
Today, Leon Luis has expanded his musical and business knowledge and is now the owner of Altar Boy Music Publishing in Los Angeles and London. Equally a business executive, as well as an artist, Leon Luis has made many great contributions to the music industry. Leon has been involved in the music business his entire adult life.
Leon worked alongside five-time Grammy award-winning producer, Pete Anderson, as Director of Publicity, for his imprint "independent label" Little Dog Records which Fontana/UMG distributed.
Leon Luis' talents include, but are not limited to, being a talented guitarist, songwriter, producer and music director. Leon has periodically worked as guitar player for the band, The Other White Meat. The members of this group come from bands such as The Alice Cooper Band, Stray Cats, Imperial Drag and Guns n Roses. Leon was the co-founder of Satellites of Love, featuring Loren Molinaire of Little Caesar and the Dogs.
Leon also worked as a guitarist with Private World, with founding members of The New York Dolls as well as Motorcycle Boy. In 1999, Leon Luis made his way on tour as a special guest for the legendary British punk rock band, The Damned.
In the recording studio, Leon has been a highly-sought-after guitarist having worked and played on recording sessions for Eric Dover, and Producers, GazaX, Dave Darling and JonX. Leon also has worked alongside the great guitarist, composer, and producer, Wayne Kramer, who is known for his band legendary Detroit rockers MC5. Leon remixed Wayne Kramer's catalogue for the imprint label, Muscletone Records.
As a producer and collaborator Leon produced the American EP for Alterna Country/Rockabilly Vixens Pretty Shifty's Long Road From Vegas.
As producer and songwriter, Leon and Motley Crue’s John Corabi co-wrote and performed vocals on Leon’s hottest new track Black Widow's Holiday. In this production, Teddy ZigZag from Guns 'n Roses plays the piano. On Leon’s amazing Blondes track, Arlan Schierbaum of Mandrill and Heaven and Earth plays a mean keyboard.
Leon Luis worked as a composer for Fox Sports Network where he was instrumental in the success of two major Emmy award-winning projects at Fox Sports that have gone on to become the most used and requested production music in Fox Sports and for the Major League Baseball Commission. His production music continues to be included in every high profile Major League Baseball broadcast, including the All-Star Game, Playoffs and The World Series since 2006.
Leon’s compositions have been broadcast on UK’s Channel 4 smash hit series, Hollyoaks, and MTV-UK’s popular series, The Geordie Shore. As well as Station ID stingers for UK’s Channel 5 and ITV Networks
